Ben Baker

Graduate Fellow

Ben Baker is a graduate student and IRW fellow pursuing a master’s degree in investigative reporting. Baker got his start in journalism as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he wrote and conducted research for a variety of publications, including the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel and Wisconsin Watch. He also worked as an education reporter in his home state of Connecticut.

Baker’s reporting has earned him multiple awards, including a first-place prize from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association for his coverage of factory farming, and his work as a student journalist has been linked in The New York Times. His primary areas of coverage include politics, agriculture, education and environmental policy.
