Maya Cederlund

Maya Cederlund is a rising senior at American University studying journalism and political science. She is the co-president and co-founder of AU’s inaugural Asian American Journalists Association chapter.
She has interned for progressive newspapers and political communications firms like The Colorado Times Recorder (CTR) and Hilltop Public Solutions. At CTR, Maya wrote a story that led to the cancellation of Rep. Lauren Boebert’s fundraising dinner and monitored right-wing media outlets. While studying abroad in London, Maya interned for leading podcast production house Rethink Audio. She has also written for The Eagle since her freshman year, working as a news staff writer, investigative reporter and community health beat reporter.
Outside of journalism, Maya enjoys hiking, baking and spending time with her dog, Biscuit.
