I'm a veteran investigative journalist and Pulitzer-Prize winning editor, having worked as a reporter and editor at five newspapers on the East Coast, including The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Baltimore Sun. In 2002, I moved to Washington as national investigative editor for Knight Ridder Co. and later ran the Washington Bureau for the McClatchy Co., which bought Knight Ridder in 2006.

Under my leadership at McClatchy, we set a standard for independence in Washington, winning numerous national awards for journalistic excellence. In 2017, I shared a Pulitzer for work on the global Panama Papers document leak about off-shore tax havens.

I'm working as a reporter and editor with both IRW and Public Health Watch, a national news nonprofit that covers environmental issues.
