Sammy Sussman is a reporter from Bedford Hills, New York.
He is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan and will attend Columbia University in the fall as part of the Stabile Investigative Reporting program. Sussman is the former investigative editor of The Michigan Daily. In 2018, his reporting for the newspaper about 40 years of alleged sexual harassment, misconduct and assault by a then-department chair was recognized by the College Media Awards, the Michigan Press Association, the Columbia Journalism Review and the Detroit Free Press. He has also written for VAN, Bridge Michigan and The Detroit Jewish News.
Outside of reporting, Sussman also is a composer, bassist and musical theater writer. This past semester, he premiered a two-act comedy and a three-act play (co-written with Allison Taylor) at the University of Michigan.
