Orion Donovan-Smith

IRW-FRONTLINE Fellow

Orion Donovan-Smith is the IRW-FRONTLINE Fellow. He earned his master’s degree from American University’s investigative reporting program and spent the summer interning at WAMU-FM radio. His reporting include U.S. and international politics, poverty, criminal justice and public health.

After growing up outside Concrete, Washington, Donovan-Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of Washington. He worked on international development and conflict management programs in central Africa before turning to journalism. In his spare time, Donovan-Smith enjoys photography and road tripping around the U.S.
