Abby Wallace

Abby Wallace is a student at the University of Maryland, earning her master’s degree in Journalism with an investigative focus. She specializes in environmental science writing and is a recipient of the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism Fellowship.

Wallace received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Evolution, and the Environment from George Washington University in 2021. There, she also double-minored in Journalism & Mass Communication and Sustainability. Additionally, she was a four-time recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award and has traveled to Iceland, the Turks & Caicos Islands, Tanzania and Kenya to study environmental science.

After graduating, she served one year as a Student Success Coach with City Year, an AmeriCorps academic program, in Washington, D.C., teaching Geometry.
