There is no complete reporting and data on the number of cases of NDM-1, a gene that makes bacteria resistant to antibiotics. Some bacteria can pass NDM-1 around quickly, making our best antibiotics ineffective and giving rise to a new class of "superbugs." This interactive map of NDM-1 shows the global spread based on scientific reports, giving us a snapshot of publicly available information. NDM-1 is considered endemic in India and Pakistan.
